TRAIL
BLAZING AND TEAM BUILDING!
Rom
15:20

Yea,
so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I
should build upon another man's foundation:

Cor 3:5-7

Who
then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as
the Lord gave to every man?
6
I
have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7
So
then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God
that giveth the increase.
Paul
was a trailblazer
and had a great desire to take the gospel to those places that had not yet
heard. Our mind conjures up images of Paul, dressed in jungle shorts and safari
helmet, hacking his way through the undergrowth of prevailing thought. He would
need to be absolutely convinced of his theology and absolutely convincing in
his presentation of it. This is the essence of mission work.
Paul
was also a team member. He understood that his work dovetailed with the
work of others to accomplish a purpose larger than any member of the team. He
was trying to convince the carnal Corinthians that he was not in competition
with. Neither was preaching a personalized gospel but rather a common truth.
His was not a boutique belief but rather the faith once delivered to the
saints. God was in charge and He would give the increase.
Dear
Lord, give me both a trailblazing spirit and a team-building heart. AMEN
