RECONCILING OUR BEHAVIOR TO OUR BELIEF!

RECONCILING OUR BEHAVIOR TO OUR BELIEF!

It’s epidemic among professing believers! Many will declare their love and devotion to God but in countless practical ways they contradict themselves.

Matt 15:8-9
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Ezek 33:31-32
31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

In many ways we have allowed our everyday practices to push God aside.

1. We equate material success with God’s blessings!

Rev 3:17
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

This mindset leads to strife.

Luke 22:24
24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

2. We compromise integrity to achieve success!

Matt 23:14
14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

Bankers, without sympathy, foreclose on widows’ houses for gain and yet stand in their churches leading prayers. Their belief does not extend to their behavior.

3. We fill with things the place reserved for God!

Eccl 2:17 AMP
17 So I hated life, because what is done under the sun was grievous to me; for all is vanity and a striving after the wind and a feeding on it.

Ps 65:4
4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

Oh Lord, when my love is aligned with my life I can then enjoy your presence and your people. AMEN
