IF
I ONLY HAD TIME!
Heb
11:32
32
And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to
tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also,
and Samuel, and of the prophets:
This
morning our choir will present a song with a 45 second interlude. Within this
time one of our men has been asked to give a brief testimony of what God has
done for him. He complains, with a broad smile, that he doesn’t have time to
list all the things God has done for him.
In the midst of a litany of
accomplishments of faith, the writer of Hebrews simply explains that he
doesn’t have time to list all of God’s blessings! We often call this eleventh
chapter “Faith’s Hall of Fame” but it is actually a list of wonderful blessings
from the generous and miraculous hand of God. There is not enough time to list
everything!
Chris
Tomlin wrote these lyrics to a popular Christian song.
You’re
the God of this city, You’re the King of these people
You’re the Lord of this nation, You are
You’re the Lord of this nation, You are
You’re the Light in this darkness, You’re the Hope to the hopeless
You’re the Peace to the restless, You are
There
is no one like our God, there is no one like our God
For
greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done in
this city
Greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done in this city
Greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done in this city
Greater
things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done here.
Dear
Lord, your blessings are more than can be numbered and we know you are not
finished! Thank you, Lord. AMEN
