SERVING GOD ACCEPTABLY!
Heb 12:28-29
28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29 For our God is a consuming fire.
Those of us who love and serve the Lord want to serve Him acceptably. The word is from the Greek euarestos and means simply that we desire to “please Him well.” When Abel offered his sacrifice God was well pleased but when Cain offered his vegetables, there was no approval. Like Abel, we want to please God well.
Mediocrity seems worse to me than failure. In my mind it actually is failure. Don’t just provide an opponent for the victorious enemy; play to win! We serve a King and a kingdom that “cannot be moved.” We are confident that all our investments are safe; all our efforts have value.
1 Cor 15:58
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Dear Lord, let me run my race so as to break the tape spent but victorious. AMEN
