WILLINGLY DELUSIONAL!
2 Thess 2:11-12
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Peter 3:4-5
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of…
Today’s politicians seem fiercely determined to perpetuate aberrant thought and actions. Lunacy seems to be a prerequisite to power or at least it is the result. We who scroll social media and channel surf the telly are at a loss for real information. Nobody seems able to tell us what is really happening.
Fortunately, God informs us that during these days it is He who has drugged the vast unbelieving world. They stagger like a drunk man while shouting foolishness and dressing in costumes rather than clothing. One might think he has stumbled upon the demoniac in Gadara were it not for the large company of his companions.
The combination of the Greek “strong and delusion” translate to “energetic fraudulence.” The Greek word plane carries the idea of “a straying from orthodoxy or piety” and this they do energetically. This is not normal activity, and we are seeing it in abundance.
Add to that a willingness to be such, and you get chaos. It is a passive acquiescence in objective considerations, i.e., to choose or prefer ignorance. This is the classic definition of “ignorance is bliss.” You’ve heard it said “I know what I believe. Don’t confuse me with the facts!” And this both sides of the argument fling at each other – both being right.
Whether news, politics, or religion, do not check your brain at the door.
Prov 4:17-19
17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
Dear Lord, let me think clearly. Let me always consider and reconsider those things that I must view day by day. Filter all my information through Thy Word and Thy Holy Spirit. AMEN
