TRUST
THE KING OF KINGS!
Ps
118:8-9
8
It
is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
9
It
is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.
John
6:15
15
When
Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make
him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.
Today
our nation celebrates its independence from England. It was not England’s
culture and castles but England’s king that they resisted. Now we find
ourselves at a similar crossroads because our president’s actions seem to mimic
that of King George III. Only time will tell the measure of our patience with
him and our broken system of government.
John

said:
“Biblically speaking, freedom is the ability to function the way God
designed us to function. This is the reason why freedom and truth are so
intertwined; we need to know what our purpose and design are before we can
exercise the freedom to fulfill our mission on earth.”
Jesus
resisted all efforts
to make Him an earthly king because His purpose was not to establish an earthly
kingdom. He told Pilate “My kingdom is not of this world.” (John 18:36) The
worship He seeks is that of the heart. He knew that it is better to put our
trust in the Lord than to put our confidence in earthly princes.
Dear
Lord, our current prospects for an earthly leader are bleak. Help us to put our
confidence in you! AMEN
