SONGS
IN THE NIGHT!
Ps
42:8
8
Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the
night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
Last
night, as I pillowed my head, I began my prayers as always but I
couldn’t sustain them. I couldn’t hold my attention upon any one prayer need.
Instead, I began to think of the many blessings God had poured upon me and how
little I had done to deserve them. One old song, best sung a cappella, kept
playing in my mind.
Grace
Greater Than Our Sin
Marvelous
grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.
Sin
and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.
Dark
is the stain that we cannot hide.
What can we do to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today.
What can we do to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today.
Marvelous,
infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?
Chorus:
Grace!
Grace! God’s Grace!
Grace
that will pardon and cleanse within!
Grace!
Grace! God’s Grace!
Grace
that is greater than all our sin.
Dear
Lord, let your lovingkindness be shown to me today and let your songs be my
prayer. AMEN
