A WELL MARKED PATH!

Isa 35:4-8

4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.

5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

Matt 21:31-32

Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Matt 11:2-5

2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

          Adverse circumstances had caused John the Baptist to question whether Jesus was Messiah. He was in prison and he would soon lose his head. He needed to be reassured. He felt confused. Rather than responding with irritation, Jesus sent an answer for John. He urged him to review the evidences listed in Matthew 11:5.

          To say that we live in difficult times is an understatement. Wacky weed has now been legalized and joins killing the unborn and homosexual marriage as the law of the land. Speaking of the law of the land, could a bona fide idiot mess up national health care quite like the current administration? Doctors and nurses are not being paid, previously held plans are being cancelled out of hand, Medicaid records are in a shambles, avenues of communication are severed and elected officials are pointing fingers of blame. All the while our foreign policy and national economy is in a death spiral.

          For the believer, there is a way! It is called The Way of Holiness and even a fool will not lose his way. When the headlines bombard us with a thousand bits of negative news we can be confident in God. Even a bona fide idiot will not lose his way on the Holy Highway.

Dear Lord, mark my path so clearly today that I will not lose my way. AMEN
