A SHOCKING SURPRISE!

A SHOCKING SURPRISE!

Rev 5:11-13
11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

          Heaven erupts with spontaneous praise and singing. The inhabitants of heaven understand and appreciate who God is and they know the identity of the Lamb that was slain and is now alive again. He has taken their sins and carried them far away. Sin does not appear in heaven and is never mentioned. Jubilation is the normal tone in God’s kingdom. I once heard a little child sweetly describe heaven as a place where there are streets of gold, a big mansion, and everybody is happy all the time.

          When the rapture snatches us away from a world that is collapsing upon itself it will be a shocking experience! Unrest suddenly becomes peace and calm. A cursing world is left behind for a praising heaven. Tears become laughter. Sorrow becomes joy. It will be quite a shock.

          The most shocking aspect of heaven will be its atmosphere of praise. We earthlings complain much and praise little. We are frustrated and unsatisfied and all the things we grasp for are incomplete. Things of earth never deliver what is advertized. Moth and rust doth corrupt and thieves break through and steal.

          Along with praise, meditation has become a lost practice among believers. It is time well spent to sit quietly and contemplate what heaven will be. It is well worth the time to rehearse what our life used to be without Jesus and His forgiveness. It is valuable time spent when we practice praising Him.

Dear Lord, today let me be surrounded by the thoughts of heaven. Let me hear a bit of the praising and let me join in. AMEN
