FROM
WORMS TO WORTHY!
Job
25:4-6
4
How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of
a woman?
5
Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his
sight.
6
How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man,
which is a worm?
Ps
22:6
6
But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and
despised of the people.
Isa
41:14-15
14
Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will
help thee, saith the Lord , and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
15
Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou
shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as
chaff.
Israel’s
enemies were strong cedars (see Ezekiel 31:3) and a worm has no teeth yet the
worm destroys the mightiest tree. With God as his helper, Jacob and his people
would be given teeth like a new threshing machine. The mountains and hills
would be like straw before them. The contrast is too clear to miss!
Without God’s help we are worm-like; weak and ineffective but with God as our
helper we may mow down the cedar covered hills.
Are
you feeling low this morning? Are you hoping to dodge the trampling
feet of the enemy today? Fear not, thou worm, God will help you.
Ps
108:13
13
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our
enemies.
Dear
Lord, too often I see my problems through worm eyes. Thank you for making me
worthy and for giving me the victory. AMEN
