ARE YOU A PLAN “B” PERSON?

ARE YOU A PLAN “B” PERSON?

Jer 18:3-4 KJV
3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

Life is full of plans “B” because plan “A” becomes corrupted in some way. Furniture and appliance stores often have “scratch and dent” sales where certain items are discounted in value because blemishes and flaws. Spiritually speaking, I am a “plan B” person.

Rom 7:7-11 KJV
7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

Notice in Jeremiah that the pottery was not marred BY the potter’s hand. The potter did not mess up. He only makes good things. No, the vessel was marred while in the potter’s hand. There was some flaw in the clay that made impossible to form it into its originally intended shape. So He made it over into a beautiful and serviceable piece.

If you see beauty in me it is due to the Potter. I am nothing compared to what I was meant to be! If I am serviceable, useful and skilled remember that I am nothing compared to what I was meant to be. The model that stands before you was formerly ruined and then rescued and refashioned by the Potter.

1 Cor 15:10 KJV
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Dear Lord, thank you for not tossing me on the scrap heap of ruined pieces. Thank you for making me something useful and beautiful. AMEN
