STR-ANGELS
Heb 13:2
2 Be not
forgetful to entertain strangers: for
thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
It is interesting that the wors “entertain”
is used only one time in the King James Version of the Bible and even then, it
is a combined with the word stranger. The Greek word ho is our definite
article the, and it makes specific the
word entertain. THE strangers, or THE hospitality. I
would suppose the stranger the stranger, the more probable the angel.
Gabriel appears four
times in Scripture. Twice to Daniel in chapters 8 and 9, then to Zachariah, the
father of John the Baptist, and then to Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Michael is an Archangel and also appears
four times, once in Jude, once in Revelation, and twice in Daniel. He is a heavenly
warrior, and he is not to be messed with.
Children are said to have
a personal, or guardian angel. (Matthew 18:10)
All the whimsical
Christmas angels are due to the mysterious description found in our text above
and also in the following verse.
Heb 1:13-14
13 But to which
of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine
enemies thy footstool?
14 Are they not
all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
Lord, let me be kind and friendly to strangers. One of them might be
an angel in disguise. AMEN
