I WAS ON HIS MIND
John 10:14-17
14 I am the good
shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth
me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I
have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall
hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my
Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
I heard an older song
at church yesterday which reminded me that Jesus had both a global and timeless
focus. When He was on the Cross was written by Mike Payne and
Ronnie Hinson.
In John chapter seventeen,
Jesus prayed for future believers, like me. “Neither pray I for these alone,
but for them also which shall believe on me through their word” John
17:20.
Though His eyes were on
the crowd that day
He looked ahead in time
'Cause when He was on the
cross
I was on His mind
He knew me, yet He loved
me
He whose glory makes the
Heaven shine
So unworthy of such mercy
Yet when He was on the
cross
I was on His mind
Merciful Savior, thank
you for thinking of me while you were suffering. You knew me thoroughly and yet
you loved me. Before I ever was, I was on your mind. Thank you. AMEN
