HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN?

 

Luke 6:12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. 

 

          I am now remembering an [almost] all-night prayer. I had recently been discovered by my God at the Blue Danube tavern. You see, I was a Christian with what might have been a career job and God was pulling me toward a lifetime as a minister. I was already making money and didn’t see much profit in preaching,

 

          I decided to soil myself and so disqualify myself for Christian service. It didn’t work. I was a marked young man. God had plans for me, and He pursued me to the tavern. I didn’t hear an audible voice, but what God asked me was “Is this what you have chosen instead of what I have chosen for you?” I looked around and it was not a pretty sight … or smell.

 

          What followed was a night of prayer and Bible reading … and tears. Mom noticed the light under my bedroom door and asked me if I was alright. I was, finally, alright.

 

          This morning, I awoke with this song in my head and in my heart. May it be a blessing to you.
