2 Peter 3:3-4
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last
days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?
for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the
beginning of the creation.
If we are honest, we have all had those days when we have secretly asked
ourselves if Jesus is ever going to return. We don’t see or understand the
signals that should alert us that something is brewing besides the coffee!
All the warning signs are here and yet He waits.
The world, our friends, our enemies, our churches, and ourselves are
in a terrible mess. Why won’t he come back and fix this?
Well, God doesn’t mark time
like we do, and He is infinitely more
patient. He is not willing that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9) and so he waits
for us to come to our senses and repent. Some will but too many simply won’t.
Heb 10:36-37
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done
the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will
come, and will not tarry.
Dear Lord, you have told us that your coming will be on a
day very similar to this day. Let me be prepared and help me to prepare others.
AMEN
