A
LITTLE REIVING
Ezra
9:8
8 And now for a little
space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to
escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our
eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
The king of Persia and her proxy states had
poured out hatred and violence against Israel in Ezra’s time. Things really
have not changed much. God gave His grace to Israel then and seems to be giving
grace again.
The king of England heavily taxed her
colonies and burdened them with strong restrictions and regulations. 250 years
ago the colonies formed the United States and defeated the strongest navy on
the globe. God gave His grace and our nation grew in strength.
But 250 years brought forgetfulness, and our nation forgot
the principles upon which she was founded. The robust stew that was formed then
has become so watered down as to be no stew at all. But now we have begun to
add ingredients to the mix. Carrots that we may see, potatoes that we might have
energy, and meat that we might have might. God has granted us a little
reviving.
America! America!
God shed His grace on
thee
And crown thy good with
brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
God, keep
us good that we may be great again. AMEN
