WHETHER OR NOT
Ezek 2:5
5 And they,
whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious
house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
Ezek 3:17
17 Son of man, I
have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at
my mouth, and give them warning from me.
Prophets not only
predicted future events, but they also presented godly advice. Unsolicited
advice occasionally seems like meddling and is sometimes unheeded. That does
not devalue the advice.
God warned Ezekiel that the people
of Israel would not heed his warnings nor apply his truths to their lives. The
result would be disappointment in the messenger and trouble for the listeners. The
disappointment came because there was no way to measure the effectiveness of
Ezekiel’s exhausting work. Indeed, today’s ministers have fallen into the trap
of measuring their effectiveness by counting nickels and noses when the real
measure is spiritual growth and maturity.
Prov 15:23
23 A man hath joy
by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
"If just a
cup of water I place within your hand
Then just a cup
of water is all that I demand,"
But if by death
to living they can thy glory see,
I'll take my
cross and follow close to thee.

Lord, bless and strengthen those who faithfully present words fitly
spoken. AMEN
