RIGHTEOUSNESS
AND PEACE!
Isa
32:17-18
17
And
the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect
of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
18
And
my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in
quiet resting places.
Gog
has slashed into Syria and warned all other intruders to remove themselves
from the arena. We are not at war but we are not at peace. When did peace
abandon us? Perhaps we have abandoned the way of peace by the deeds of
unrighteousness.
Peace is not a root, but a fruit. It is not the
beginning of a process, but its end. It is not the summary creation of an
imperial fiat; it is the matured product of the spiritual order. We cannot
command peace; we can only grow it. If we would have the reapings we must
attend to certain sewings. To obtain peace we must plant righteousness. (J.
H. Jowett)
Our leaders have perfected falsehood and their
working is that of wickedness. Consistently, they choose the foes of God and
their unrighteousness has brought forth the fruit of fear and uncertainty. Our
complaints to God are returned to us with this principle: “the work of
righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and
assurance forever.”

Tim 2:1-2
2
I
exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2
For
kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a
quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
Dear
Prince of Peace, restrain our leaders from wickedness and help them in every
right cause that we may be at peace. AMEN
