STRONG DELUSION

 

2 Thess 2:7-11

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

 

          The word “letteth” or to “let” is from the Greek word katecho which means “to hold down fast” or to restrain or restrict. The He is the Holy Spirit who restrains or limits evil until he is removed from this task along with the raptured saints. Be thankful that, though things be bad even now, He is restraining evil.

 

          That WICKED is capitalized because it refers to the Wicked One. He is the one who is now being restrained. He is Anti-Christ, and his working follows the wishes of Satan.

 

          If you find yourself baffled as to why so many cannot or do not see the truth clearly, it is because the mystery of iniquity is already at work. What shall it be like when it is unrestrained? Pray for friends and loved ones that their eyes be not clouded over with strong delusion.

 

1 Tim 2:1-4

2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

 

Dear Lord, please remove the delusion from the eyes and understanding of those who cannot seem to see and understand. AMEN
